Saying the 2017 JL is the same as ZSJL is like saying a burnt microwave dinner is the same as a full-course meal because “they both have chicken.” One is rushed, gutted, and unrecognizable. The other is the actual vision. Stop pretending they’re equal.

ZSJL (2021) is 4 hours for a reason: it tells a complete, coherent story. Every character has an arc. The pacing builds. The tone is operatic, emotional, and epic. It’s not a longer cut — it’s the real film. The 2017 version was a replacement, not a vision.

Visually, the 2017 version ditched Snyder’s signature tone for bright reshoots, awkward lighting, and rushed CGI. Scenes were re-lit and color corrected to force a lighter tone — clashing with what had already been shot.
