So Tinubu, a thug, thief and retired drug dealer who just stole an election made @Time ’s 100 Most Influential list. LOL! The bigotry of low expectations. If Tinubu was a Western leader, he’d be held more accountable. They do not rate us, they do not see us as part of their…

So, my friend Fat Stanley and I were really enjoying life. We walked around telling people that we were university graduates and people gave us their wives, money, daughters, chickens and goats. Life was good. The Gulder was flowing, the suya was on the barbecue grill everyday.😻

They don’t like that. But who cares? Fat Stanley and I are still here, luxuriating in the wretched promise of America’s love. Fat Stanley is now simply Stanley, scrawny from shoveling snow and America’s bullshit off his driveway and his dreams. But who cares? We are Americans!

To be clear, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is no fluke. You don’t read Purple Hibiscus and Half of a Yellow Sun and come away with the notion that Adichie is merely an affirmative action writer. Adichie has earned her stripes; her works belong in the canon of world narrative, Period.

The widespread mockery of the Ekweremadus is merely symptomatic of the fact that Nigerian politicians for the most part are widely hated - and for good reason. They are not nice people. Nigerians see them as the enemy. And they are.

For many households and restaurants, using paracetamol is the fastest way to prepare meat. It saves gas, kerosene or firewood. And costs much less, N50 for one sachet of 12 tablets, and each tablet can cause... meat to cook soft within few minutes.

I disagree. I graduated with a Second Class Lower degree. BSc Honours, Biochemistry, class of 1979, Great UniBen. I did just fine in life. And coming from peasant stock, I had zero connections. I turned out okay. It is just a degree. It is what you put into it that matters. 1979…

Tinubu dares the courts to remove him as president and cause anarchy in the land. Interesting, the anarchy would probably come from the unrestrained celebration by a people tired of being disrespected by vagabonds in power. The law is quite clear on this, Tinubu should never…

I will share my UniBen transcripts one day. Not one A. My grades were mediocre. Life in Nigeria’s universities was hell. Mean teachers who wanted inappropriate things in exchange for good grades. And that was 1979. America told me I am not the dolt that my transcripts advertised.

My first job offer in the US, was in 1984. As a lecturer at an HBCU.$13,000 a year, free lodging and green card sponsorship. My face fell. The president of the college said, “Son, take it, this is a good foot in the door.” I took it. He was right, it was a great foot in the door.

On this day, February 13, 1976, Lt. Colonel Buka Suka Dimka executed General Murtala Muhammed, Head of State of Nigeria, reformed thief, and supervisor of the Asaba massacre during the Nigerian civil war. Today, his name adorns an airport and we endure his face on the Naira.
