#TrashploitationTuesday A Taste of Blood (1967). HGL brings out the fangs in a film he considers his masterpiece. But, I'm not so sure. Yes, there's a tech progression, but it suffers from being stuck in the middle, a little too safe 4 the trash world, & too stale for the art set

This gloriously, trippy Czech poster for The Planet of the Apes by artist Vratislav Hlavaty, channeling the iconography of revolutionary Che Guevara.

Michael Madsen as Mr. Blonde was a performance for the ages - ice-cool, menacing and completely riveting. It was Mitchum and Bogie dialed up and updated for Gen X. Madsen should have been an era-defining actor like those previously mentioned, and at times, he was. RIP

#NRW No Country For Old Men (dir. Coen brothers, 2007). 2007 has There Will Be Blood, Assisalnation of Jesse James, Zodiac, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Gringhouse, The Savages, and many more. Does it rival 1999 in terms of quality?🤔

#HumpdayHorror Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom. De Sade's work gets a makeover in Pasolini's final film, that would take aim at the brutal authority of fascist era Italy, in this precursor to torture porn. Pasolini also points his finger at consumerism - crap in, crap out.

#trashploitationtuesday.California Axe Massacre, a.k.a. Axe, a.k.a. Lisa, Lisa, was born from writer/director Frederick Friedel's desire to make a film by age 25, just like Orson Welles. The budget was so tight that most crewmembers worked for no more than $10 a day.

If you had to pick the filmography of one of these popular North American masters, as your favourite of the late 20th/early 21st century, who's filmography would you pick?.
