copilot was so transformational when it first came out, but now, after their new UI update and after switching to more agentic models in VSCode (e.g. @roo_code) i'm ready to just turn off inline completions. they use a nerfed model without enough context so they are often wrong.

surprised there isn't more about this online, but in #golang goids are no longer allocated sequentially (monotonically increasing). the numbers appear to be allocated into pools per thread/processor. but by adding runtime.GOMAXPROCS(1) and runtime.LockOSThread() you see them

crazy that doing observability in production is easier than doing it in development. we have instant log search over billions of lines, but still scroll up in the terminal or Cmd-F to find things in development.

i have a standing desk, but haven't really used it 😅. a lot of the research about cardiovascular health and standing desks is likely biased (correlational). the people most likely to use them are people who are more active and care about their health 🏃‍♂️.
