Renaming the end would definitely solve some of the problems the dimension has.
One of Mojangs biggest mistakes with Minecraft i think was naming a dimension "the end.". I think it really puts into question if the game is sandbox when the game has a definitive ending. I think you could fix it by renaming the end "the ender". I think it makes so much sense.

I am glad the post managed to make it so far outside of my usual circles, even if only to start a discussion about how it's wrong. There's definitely a space in Minecraft (even if only an achievement/advancement) for a "beating all structures" reward, I hope one day we get it.

The most common argument I've seen against this is "nobody goes to the end as it is" - I think there's a discussion to be had in making the end easier to go to as well. I still think that ender pearls + blaze rods is very arbitrary for anything but historic reasons.

I would absolutely love this change, the eye of ender originally required the two hardest to kill mobs, but I think this fits into the category of "mojang can't change it, even though they wouldn't design it that way today"

A lot of people have seen the "lighting" hints as being glare related. but what if they're actually hinting at a copper lantern? We have the ingredient for the recipe now, and the biggest reason non iron farm players don't use lanterns is the high cost
