Great to see @SQuek_001 amazing work finally come out, and that @ian_patters pipelines for ISVs could be adapted to search for viruses in other invertebrates.

Finally online! A project started by @RhiannonAELogan at @LSTMvector and finished with students working with me at @BrockUFMS with lots of help in between. Some highlights:.

The @CoulibalyLab has postdoc positions available. Great location and interesting projects but I think the best part is the creative translational science. That’s what stuck with me the most from my time there.

Great work by @marcusvillena on the figures. I’m still amazed that he captured so much information. Was excited every time he sent me a new draft to look at and he’s still got lots of ideas.

2) Lots of transmission. Maternal, paternal, and horizontal from male-to-female but not female-to-male. Figure shows high efficiency vertical transmission, and cases of horizontal transmission

1) You can detect virus in mozzies by testing the pupae case after the adult emerges. That was @RhiannonAELogan’s idea from watching people test for transgenes. Figure compares virus in pupa exuviae vs adult. If you read the paper you can spot the cases of horizontal transmission
