I sometimes get out of Africa, but I'm probably still hiking/wildlife spotting. The making of Europe's Yellowstone, in the Spring 26 issue of Mountains Magazine

It always feels like Africa is an afterthought in these lists, but you’ll see no complaint from me with the inclusion of Cape Town, Lagos and Marrakesh. It’s great to see Cairo receiving some love too even if the 2 highlighted attractions are in Giza https://t.co/JqGtqrWUuH

It’s a pity I won’t be able to enter this year. Now that you’re charging a fee per category, that rules out the majority of freelance writers who are struggling enough as it is. We simply can’t afford it. @TravWriters

Welcome to March, the month known to Swazis as Indlovulenkhulu ("Big Elephant"). When times of year were noted by Africans for nature's phenomenon observed that month, elephants were seen getting big from the abundant foods of the Southern summer.

The Pope has clearly had an eye on my recent travels since he's planning to visit both Angola and Cameroon during his next trip to Africa https://t.co/1O0Jo2x9Jk

As someone who has been banging on about all three destinations over the past couple of years, it’s fantastic to see @UD_Adventures choose Angola, Ghana and Comoros as some of their recently-opened and overlooked nations to travel too! https://t.co/btHzVVluh5

Really enjoyed joining the folks at Intrepid for a panel discussion on Where To Travel Next at Destinations Fair. Given the amount of scribbling going on I think the audience enjoyed it too (or maybe they were all penning letters of complaint) 😅

Had one to many 'Salut, Papa' (Hi, old man) now. Anyone know where I can buy some just for men in northern Cameroon? 😂

AfricArchitecture. Today in 1992, The Ghana National Theatre building is completed, in Accra. Housing Ghana’s National Dance Company, the National Symphony Orchestra and that National Theatre Players, the soaring exterior suggests a ship on an artistic voyage.

Angola is Africa's largest banana producer (and #7 in the world) and 2025 will see another bumper season, likely 5million tonnes. Thanks to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Nigeria has been added to Angola's export markets this year.🇦🇴🍌🇳🇬
