when talking greatest directors i like to break it down to demographics, so i never make it global because europeans film culture is so different from american to compare (imo). so in terms of americans. Kubrick, Scorsese, Spielberg. holy trinity.
i think there has to be an argument for Stanley Kubrick as the greatest film director based off of his range across genre alone and still redefining them.
