I think by this time we should have our own category: Motörhead music.

You always hear a melody in your head that works for the chorus and then give it a set of chords.

Songwriting for me happens in all different ways, you know, sometimes you get the music first, sometimes the lyrics.

Lyrics and poetry are a lot alike. Quite a bit of my lyrics could stand on their own as poetry. Especially songs like "1916".

"Orgasmatron" was also the only time I ever really tried to sing. I gave up on it after that and went back to not giving a shit.

The same thing with the war. They give you a nice new uniform and march you off to die.

If you are really into that, you don't need to go to a church to talk to God, you can talk to him anywhere.

Things like people that go to church and cum in their pants while communing with Jesus Christ. It's all a bunch of bullshit.

The song is about the three things that I hate most in life: organized religion, politics and war.

I thought that I invented the term "Orgasmatron" but maybe it was a subconscious thing.

"Orgasmatron" is probably the best I've ever written, along with "March or Die". I never thought of Woody Allen's Sleeper when I wrote it.

I think I only got beat on sex Idol by David Coverlade. I didn't mind - he had more hair.

We couldn't go wrong that year (1980).I think we were on every poll and in every music paper.

The Western motif was Eddie's idea; he had an aching desire to be Clint Eastwood. We all looked pretty good, dressed up as gunslingers.

Everybody thinks we did the 'Ace of Spades' album cover in the desert, but it was in South Mimms, north of London.

The success of the album 'Ace of Spades' represented a fairly new world, as we'd only done three albums before that.

Bomber was basically the transition record between Overkill and our next record, Ace of Spades, and that was its function really.
