Hear. I do not see the point in imposing unreasonably high standards and failing almost an entire class just for the sake of power-tripping students.
Is having a class that did not learn well a badge of honor? I don't think so.
I recently gave an exam where the average score was 40%. I felt like a failure. I took some time over the past 2 weeks to re-teach the skill. Average score? 80%. Moral of the story? If the kids aren't getting it, it's probably not them. Humble yourself & try again.
