I spent year leading an effort to replace the toolset used to assemble and deliver the front-end of https://t.co/fieKSZUv2k. The old system became a haunted forest and I've written about how we've tried to create something more sustainable:

A lot of focus is put on shipping with no bugs. In most cases, more focus should be put on being able to safely and rapidly patch your system. You will *always* ship with bugs. How quickly you can deal with them makes all the difference.

10/12 Back to baked goods; on my first day I went to a bake sale celebrating Black History Month run by the Mosaic Network which celebrates different ethnic identities and backgrounds. I now hope for cakes from the Disability Network, Neurodiversity Network and LGBTQ+ Network 🧁

9/12 If you don’t consider proximity to top baked goods a benefit then… I’m disappointed, but the other headline benefits here are an 11% pension and comprehensive private healthcare. Salary ranges are posted on the job listings so you can add up the total package for yourself.

8/12 If you do like being in the office then that’s good because it’s a nice place to be. It’s next to Regent’s Park, in Fitzrovia, so the coffee and snack options are impeccable, trust me. The Met/Circle/H&C/Victoria/Northern lines all run mere moments away too 🚇

7/12 Relatedly, most folks head into the office once a week (on a Thursday) but others only travel occasionally for bigger events. Like many places our policies are in flux on this subject but going to the office more is not on the table 🙅

6/12 As well as integrity we've got flexibility. I don’t work full time and that’s OK because I’m not the only one. On top of that, work-life balance is genuinely respected - it’s a 35 hour week and everyone gets 28 days paid holiday as standard 🏝

5/12 Because the work Which? does is for the benefit of consumers our decisions have to be made with integrity and not just for the numbers. We don’t use intrusive tracking, there's no ads, no dodgy UX patterns, and frankly the cookie and privacy policies are lit 🔥

4/12 To achieve our goals, technology has been split into squads broadly following the Spotify model. It’s a setup that’s maturing really well and each squad is feeling empowered and healthy. There’s no zombie SCRUM or fake agile here 😌

Do toggles (like the one pictured) appear anywhere within desktop apps? I can't find any examples on MacOS or Windows where a toggle has been used instead of a checkbox 🤔
