This very good piece on consent in #datagovernance from a feminist perspective provides food for thought re. consent in research settings. Personally, I can't wait to see the end of the frequently meaningless and tokenistic "informed consent" box ticking! #datafeminism

In new research, drawing on long-standing feminist critiques of consent & contract, @triptijain & I show that rather than enable autonomy, consent in #datagovernance is used to legitimise new relations of subordination, exploitation https://t.co/1LdvD0qUTk

The research maps and highlights how the @sahamati’s AA framework aims to address and is addressing the critiques of consent in #dataprotection . While doing so the paper also illustrates how can the consent framework be further strengthened.

Account Aggregator ecosystem is still evolving, to understand it better and contribute to the consent aspect (major building block)of it. I undertook a research last year, the research highlights the progress of the current #consent architecture and addresses the shortcomings.

Using feminist lens to study India's Account Aggregators, @iNetDemocracy finds that while they improve consent from status quo, they cannot succeed without changes in the broader ecosystem. We need more such sociological critiques of tech solutions. Link: https://t.co/eBGCmSZVWb
