Figured I'd pin my talk from last November's annual the World Business Forum conference. If you want a sneak peek at the book I'm working on... . https://t.co/mr5c5KYV7C

By this logic, Mexico could build a factory in Juarez that spewed noxious chemicals into El Paso, and we'd be totally OK with it. Of course we would. https://t.co/xJqDq8QOJ0

Several conservative justices were skeptical of the administration’s “good neighbor” rule on cross-state pollution, meant to protect downwind states from harmful emissions.

If you think the Japanese-American WWII internment camps weren't a stain on our history, you probably think Trump's internment and deportation ideas are pretty cool. Once again, the always switched-on @HC_Richardson weaves history into today's news: https://t.co/yWDU09aWXP

When I was at @phillipsacademy, my house master took a small group of us to hear the @BostonSymphony perform. The surprise? We then went to dinner with @SeijiOzawa1935. What an astonishing, captivating human. The wold is a worse place without him in it.

He led the Boston Symphony Orchestra for 29 years, toured widely and helped dispel prejudices about East Asian classical musicians.

I’ve been trying to decide if the tilt towards absurdity that MAGA conspiracies embrace is primarily malice or primarily stupidity. Reading @DavidAFrench op-ep today, I’ve finally decided: it’s both.

Never mind that we had 43 Presidents leave office without immunity. One, Nixon, received a pardon before his trial. And not one was indicted. 250 years. Until this oleaginous stain sat in the Oval Office.

Imagine: A demilitarized, sovereign, independent, stable, happy Palestine. Reconstructed by the wealthy Arab world as a beacon of what the region could be. A healthy trading partner for Israel. Like a Switzerland in the Middle East. Just imagine.

The thing about surfing waves big enough to have material consequences is that they simultaneously require total attention and the capacity to totally let go and trust. A wild combination.

Maria Popover is simply one of the best things around. She herself, like the hummingbirds in this delightful essay, hovers somewhere between science and magic.

This is pure speculation, but I bet that if Trump had simply invested each tranche of his inheritance in an S&P 500 index fund when he received it, he'd be among the wealthiest men in the world today. I mean, $40mm in 1980 would be worth more than $5billion, div's included.

Just a reminder that if an unfertilized egg is a human, so is a sperm. So every time a guy masturbates, he murders millions of unborn humans. Is that really how we’re going to land this?

I was as far right theologically and politically you can imagine for the majority of my life. What I then discovered through education, travel, ministry, and relationships with those different from me is how little I actually understood about the issues I claimed to care about🧵

I'm not even following the updates, but for the life of me I can't imagine a lawyer willing to argue that a president should be immune, forever, from any form of prosecution. Laissez majeste, c. 2024!

One can't help but wonder what is going through for former, twice impeached, president as @dr_yusefsalaam prepares to become an elected official. The braided, narrative arc of these two men is operatic.

Yet more proof, as if we needed it, that money changes everything. Good, bad, different... the gravitational pull of cash is like a black hole: it just sucks everything in and makes people do some very, truly wierd stuff. https://t.co/WUaTlxAiuD
