SUN MAY 22 (11AM) UPDATE: The moment we have information about specific neighbourhoods, we will share it here. We know this is difficult and we want to assure you that we are doing everything possible to keep you informed & restore power as quickly as possible.
Crews have worked overnight and will continue to do so over the coming days.
Restoration is expected to extend over multiple days & will be prioritized by trying to do the greatest good for the greatest # of customers: large scale outages restored first, followed by smaller ones
11,000 customers remain without power. After nine days, we have 100 outages to restore in areas of the city. Extensive construction. In total, 300+ poles needed replaced. Comparison, Ice Storm: 50. Tornadoes: 80. + debris & downed trees. Efforts continue around the clock today.

We can confirm that power has been restored tp the Queensway Carleton Hospital and Royal Ottawa Hospital. Crews are focusing assisting other hospitals, the Robert O. Pickard Environmental Centre (ROPEC) water treatment plant, and the airport, among other critical institutions.

The storm damaged more than 300 poles across Ottawa. By comparison, 80 poles needed replacing after the 2018 tornadoes.

Hey Ottawa, we know it's been a tough day without power.
The situation continues to fluctuate as a result of bad road conditions, ice build up and downed trees and power lines. Crews will be working 24/7, and the safety of our workers & the public remain our top priority.
The focus for today's work includes significant tree removal and civil work to get new poles installed...
With more than 200 damaged poles across the city, this level of infrastructure replacement would normally require 6 months but we're performing it within days!
RESTORATION UPDATE: Overnight we successfully restored power to an additional 7,000 customers.
In total, just over 161,000 customers have power back, with approx. 19,000 who remain without.
UPDATE: Crews have successfully restored power to 120,000 customers.
As your power is restored, we'd like to remind residents to conserve their use of energy and avoid turning on all electronics and appliances to avoid impacting the electricity supply.
RESTORATION UPDATE: As of 7 p.m., crews have successfully restored power to just over 90% of all impacted customers.

Since Saturday, we focused on making areas safe and restoring critical services needed to assist others. Crews continue to work around the clock, and we estimate that most customers should be restored over the next 2-4 days.
We are dealing with a high number of downed powerlines across the city. All available Hydro Ottawa employees and external contractors have been called in to assist.
Given the number of separate events and the extent of damage to electrical equipment, this will be a multi-day restoration effort. To date, we’ve successfully restored power to just over 10,000 customers.

6:45AM UPDATE: Our overnight crews were kept busy restoring power to hundreds of customers. There are currently just over 100 customers without power. Our crews are working as swiftly as possible while keeping safety for all a priority.
Our crews continue to work around the clock along (along with support from utility partners) and will continue to do so over the coming days to complete repairs. We continue to work as quickly as possible while keeping safety as the number one priority.
