With the HWDFA Summer League now complete, attention turns to the Memorial Cup Final. Gildersome Spurs OB take on Wellington Westgate at Ossett United on Thursday evening in what should be an entertaining game. Both teams have chosen Andy's Man Club as the charity for the game

In doing so, they moved level on points with Drighlington, but ahead on goal difference. However, it was Inter Batley who secured the title with a nervy 2-0 victory over Savile United, who made Batley work for their victory.

Drighlington’s 1-1 draw with Gildersome opened the door for the teams in 2nd to 4th places to leapfrog them and take the trophy. Wellington Westgate, who started the evening in 4th place did what they had to do in beating 3rd placed Mount Pleasant 4-0

Congratulations to Inter Batley, winners of the HWDFA Summer League 2025. In a final set of results befitting the competition as a whole, Drighlington, who went into the evening as league leaders failed to secure the win that would have secured the title.

If both Drighlington and Inter Batley fail to win, then the winner of the Mount Pleasant vs Wellington fixture could win the title, although it may even go down to goal difference. All games kick off at 6:45pm at Sands Lane, Dewsbury.

Realistically, however, the title is likely to go to either Drighlington or Inter Batley. If Drighlington beat Gildersome, then the title is theirs, but if they fail to win then Inter Batley will secure the title if they beat bottom side Savile United.

It’s the final matchday in the HWDFA Summer League this evening, with all 6 teams in action. 4 of the 6 teams are still in with a chance of winning the title, with only 2 points separating Drighlington in top spot from Wellington Westgate in 4th.

Congratulations to the #Lionesses on their #WEURO success following their victory on penalties over Spain in the final. If you're feeling inspired to emulate these champions, then why not apply to join the HWDFA Mavis Ward Cup or Trophy for the 2025-26 season.
