wanted to draw this picture for years! I love this poem since my childhood, and in our version of the book the saying went smth like "ancient gold rarely shines" and so the image had been cooking and marinating in my head for many years :D

Finishing university was a bit trying, bc there were 2 of them at the same time. In one you've been studying online bc of the war, the other is going on in the foreign language that I've never studied before coming here 3 years ago.I've survived bc i love creating art very much:).

some photos of the maquette again. first time doing it, and it came out pretty well in my humble opinion

the only colours were green and red, which are representing the Green Knight and Gawain respectively. For some drawings I've used aquarelle as the base and then painted over in photoshop. loved working with different textures!

20 illustrations, a lot of text composing and the maquette which I've glued by my own hands. Wanted to illustrate one of my favourite stories in my own style, mixing with medieval art and manuscript vibe. The film was a great inspiration, and there are some references on it :)
