...and Marie Sklodowska Curie achieved all this before the end of year 1911. A whole decade before the establishing of the International Women's day... she and we were very lucky. #EveryBrainintheGame
The first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize, the first individual to be awarded two Nobel Prizes and still today the only individual with two Nobel Prizes in two different scientific categories: Marie Skłodowska Curie. Learn more: https://t.co/Da1EINZJE9

Another study showing NO significant difference in viral load between vaccinated and unvaccinated people who tested positive for the delta variant of SARS-CoV-2. It also found NO significant difference between infected people with or without symptoms. Distance is key. Stay safe.

We need to nurture and to hire the best brains, to achieve the breakthroughs we need. #IWD2021
.@BillGates' new book is an exceptionally clear and accessible primer on climate change. He's unblinking in the difficulty of meeting this challenge but maintains a cautious optimism that it can be met—and provides a framework for action that is both specific and workable.

Vaccine 95% effective doesn’t mean 5% ineffective. Means 20-fold LOWER risk of symptomatic infection of any kind IF you encounter virus. & EVEN LOWER risk of hospitalization/death. Once vaccinated, have more to fear from flu than Covid. Get vaccinated when u can.

De har kortlagt det sjældne hjernesyndrom Rett samt givet unikt indblik i epigenetik og forståelse for, at neurologiske udviklingsforstyrrelser ikke nødvendigvis er irreversible. Derfor modtager Huda Zoghbi og Adrian Bird The Brain Prize 2020 https://t.co/FQtYddO2nA

Let’s remember that the research that will get us through this current situation was done or is based on research done before this situation. Funding and teaching science is important. Always.

It's a big problem when the best is held back, regardless of which group and which reasons involved. Big problem.
Most academic journals are seeing increased (20-30%) submission rates as a result of the pandemic, but the productivity increase is gendered - something that will hopefully be taken into account at some point - the playing field still isn’t (and has never been) even.

So it’s going to take other studies with more accurate tests (not clear yet if we have any more accurate) done on random samplings of people and maybe at a time when the virus has spread more widely before we really know its lethality.

Even if we're in this global crisis together, it's nice to see praise of the Danish government and read that Denmark is in a good place for a fast economic recovery. https://t.co/UkUYLjABuy via @BBC_Travel

The Danish PM makes time to answer burning questions from kids, to broadcast on a kids TV channel. It's great. And perhaps unique. I love this idea.
Tak til @UltraDR og @borneavisen , som besøgte Statsministeriet for at formidle spørgsmål fra børn. Se Ultras indslag: https://t.co/P4LoYsDfDm

I heard today that in Ireland "Social Distancing" has been renamed "Responsible Solitude". So much nicer.

Hopes-up for herd immunity. Hopes-up for effective vaccinations in 12 months. Meanwhile social distancing in contained zones of trust seems key.
I’m a virologist- this model from the UK shows what will happen when we ease up on social distancing prematurely (rebound!). It’s what could still happen in every country that’s gotten covid under control. We have to social distance for a while.
