October 2024 marks Just Us Books’s 36th year as a children’s and young adult book publisher. God placed us on this journey, and He has kept us. We are so thankful for the many, many friends we have made over these years across the country and around the world.

Books can change and transform lives. Banned Books Week (9/ 22-28)) sheds light on the campaign across the country to ban books from schools, libraries and even challenging them in bookstores. Young Readers love books like those written by acclaimed author Rita Williams-Garcia.

During the launch of our new picture The Day Madear Voted Don Tate and I were joined by the NAACP of the Oranges & Maplewood (NJ) who offered voter registration opportunities. On National Voter Registration Day, we salute all those who do the crucial work of registering voters.

Don Tate and I did another engaging Zoom interview today about our new picture book The Day Madear Voted. This time we were interviewed by Stephanie Affinito of the KidLit Love podcast. The interview will post on October 21 on multiple social media platforms.
