Since I am not actively working as appart anymore, I am thinking of making the website available as a #Webflow cloneable, mainly to inspire others. Yet I am afraid a lot of ‘designers’ will just copy it and use it as their own website. Thoughts on this? Link in comments.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED my freelance life. I am just here to inform on a different way of work on which there is not a lot of information. If you’re considering the switch, feel free to reach out for more info. We’re hiring, BTW. PEACE.

The reality — Of course they hired me for a reason: to grind my ass off. This job is no walk in the park. I still have long days and meetings that could have been an e-mail. But now, ‘grinding’ means going hard creatively, not juggling freelance duties.

The pay — Only in my best freelance year, I made more then what I do now. Yet, I had to be on my grind 24/7. Now, I get home at 6pm and have paid holidays. I think there is a misconception of agencies not paying well, if you have the experience and drive, they pay top dollar.

The goal — November Five has a clear goal of becoming the #1 reference in memorable digital at an enterprise level. I mean, who would not want to be a part of this?.

The culture — November Five has been around for 15 years. With over 40% of people working there over 10 years. These guys have their shit together. They are heavily invested in your growth and sanity. If you consider making a move to an agency, this should be your #1 priority.

The job — I am literally hired to do what I do best: design unique digital experiences. It’s a joy to be creatively free for top clients. Freelancing often means dealing with a lot of hassle before you can start creating.

The ceiling — The biggest projects I hit were around €75.000. I felt that companies who were willing to pay more, usually went for the security of an agency. Since often I had to settle for less, I felt that my creative and technical skills were at a halt.

After 12 years of freelancing I gave up my studio, appart, to join established tech agency, November Five, as their Senior Experience Designer. Since my move I got a lot of WHY?!’s, particularly from other freelancers. Here is why: 🧵

I’ve always loved the mobile landscape breakpoint to hide an easter egg. For theo there was no exception. When you turn your phone sideways on their website, the front camera activates, offering users the chance to virtually try their funk. Concept by myself.Build @iljavaneck
