Traffic on outer ring road in Delhi is a mess this morning — like it is three days a week — and as always, not a single traffic policeman @dtptraffic to be found. Not one. Must be busy elsewhere

Foundation models are stuck in the past, but they intentionally produce natural-sounding and varied responses. These can lead to hallucinations. We explore the limitations of foundation models and how RAG can address these so chat, search, and agentic workflows can all benefit.

Fantastic weekend read by @appriseParas ! A forgotten visitors’ book from Town Hall that serves as an essential record of India’s diplomacy. We have a rich repository & if archived properly — it’ll only tell us more about the country, the city we were and are.
Lost ledger of city's history of diplomacy From Zhou Enlai's 'Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai' to NAM and Marshal Tito, last king of Afghanistan to Saddam Hussain- a collection that has it all Rediscovered visitors’ book from Town Hall chronicles Delhi’s role in the post-colonial world

If rabies is the big problem it is being made out to be — the government’s own numbers of deaths on account of it range from 54 to 5700 to 20000 a year — then the only people to be held culpable for this are local government. 5/n

For the state to now claim their hands were tied before the Supreme Court’s judgement is dishonest. They were simply inefficient. Now they need to figure out a way to deal with the situation humanely and efficiently. 4/n

With a million strays around in Delhi, NDMC, MCD and the state government (all to blame in equal measure) have been sleeping . In many cases animal welfare groups and dog lovers have stepped in to fill the breach but they can’t do enough. 3/n

Sterilisation programmes are inefficient; garbage management is a mess (attracting dogs) and construction sites are unregulated, with workers putting down shanties there (they live there and because they cook there it attracts strays who stay on when the workers go). 2/n

It’s easy to blame dog lovers for the problem of strays but the only and real culprit is local government. 1/n
