If you saw my post from last week about some cold cases with ties to Floyd’s timeline and MO, it’s worth noting that Scruggs reported on Georgia/Atlanta cold cases during the1980s when other press had little interest. She was dedicated to these stories (6/8

Prior to moving to Atlanta at the end of 86, Scruggs worked in South Carolina @ Anderson Independent Mail. Interestingly, there was a family sighting of Floyd & ‘Sharon’ in SC late in 86 & when Jenny received a call from. But this woman is more likely tied to Atlanta. (5/8

“April 6 ‘98” refers to when this release was sent, not the photo date- that is unknown.Kathy Scruggs worked the crime beat at the Atlanta Journal- Constitution from end 1986-1994. It had a supplement “Local News” Yes I tried to contact AJC & checked almost 3k archived items 4/8)

If you think you know who this is, the clearest path is to contact the St Petersburg, Florida PD who were originally looking for this woman & reference the original press release. I’ve redacted old info to reduce confusion (3/8

FBI weren’t able to identify her in ‘98 when this press release was shared with police depts. They also weren’t able to tie her to Atlanta— not a misstep but a sign of the times. It says “older female” but looking now, she really could have been younger than thought (2/8
