Late-surviving New Mexican dinosaurs illuminate high end-Cretaceous diversity and provinciality | Science
science.org
It has long been debated whether non-avian dinosaurs went extinct abruptly or gradually at the end-Cretaceous (66 million years ago), because their fossil record at this time is mostly limited to...

Great description of the work by Danison et al. 2024, the status of #Saurophaganax, and the scientific method at work: testing hypotheses, retesting later with more data, and knowing a hypothesis could be tested again in the future. https://t.co/kcR5vFMx6I

Did crocs lose their warm-blooded edge? 🐊 A 2004 hypothesis suggests ancient pseudosuchians (croc relatives) were endothermic but modern crocs lost it. Review of 20 yrs of evidence suggests End-Triassic extinction favored cold-blooded survival @MathieuGFB

New paper in @AnatRecord ! https://t.co/2g4R95WQae We used the relationship between alligator femur volume and body mass to predict body masses of some extinct croc relatives. Result: taxa were less chonky using femur volume as the mass predictor compared with using femur length.

We are incredibly proud of our student Kyle Atkins-Weltman on his discovery of a new dinosaur!
New dinosaur discovered at #okstate! 🦖🤠 Only a small number of people can say they’ve named a new dinosaur, and now @OSUMedicine student Kyle Atkins-Weltman is part of that exclusive club. #OrangeIsTheAnswer
