There's a lot of crazy stuff going on in the world... โ An impending economic crisis โ Free speech control in the EU with the Digital Services Law โ Jobs being destroyed left and right โ The preparation for war in Europe If you want to escape all of that... Paraguay ๐ต๐พ is

You don't have to fall in love with every place you live This might sound harsh, but sometimes a city is just... fine. It works. You have what you need. But it's not magical, and you're not posting photos every day about how amazing it is And that's okay I've spent months in

Your visa run is not a personality trait I've noticed this thing where new nomads treat visa runs and residency permits like some kind of achievement They'll post about their third border crossing this year, or getting temporary residency somewhere, like it's a badge of honor

If you need an expat Facebook group to survive in a new city, you're not actually location independent You don't really know if you can handle nomad life until you've spent a month somewhere without a backup plan Not a week in Bali staying at a coworking resort. Not two weeks

Looks like Iโm not the only one noticing this I looked at both and seriously considered Dubai for a whileโฆ And ended up moving to Paraguay instead ๐ต๐พ
Angle 49203 why Paraguay๐ต๐พ fucks on Dubai๐ฆ๐ช as a residency option for globally-adjusted online biz owners. It's MUCH more affordable. Paraguay: ~$5k setup, ~$500/yr Dubai: ~$7k setup (often up to ~$10k), ~$4k/yr Thatโs 2ร cheaper to set up (vs typical) and 8ร lower annual burn.

Stop calling places "third world" like it's 1985. You sound ridiculous I've been living between Paraguay, Georgia, and a few other so-called "developing countries" for years now, and honestly? My quality of life is better than it was in most Western cities โ

Not all expats/nomads are cool people A group Iโm part of here in Asuncion planned an asado last weekend Some random people from the group showed up, and apparently trashed the place To the extent where the host now has to abandon the building this Friday and is banned from

Good news is... there's so many places in the world that could fit most of those boxes. In my case, I had several very strong contenders: - Thailand ๐น๐ญ: Amazing weather in Chiang Mai, plenty of nomads who shared my values, insane nature nearby, very cheap, lots of fun things to

If you want to be happy in a new country, you need to relocate to one that ticks most of these boxes: โ
Good weather โ
Pleasant people โ
Reasonable cost (according to your income level) โ

Strong community โ
A culture that's at least somewhat

The problem with my friends was, they moved to countries that made economic sense but where the lifestyle SUCKS - Germany ๐ฉ๐ช (I have a lot of friends living in Berlin for some reason) - Ireland ๐ฎ๐ช - The UK ๐ฌ๐ง Hey, they might work for some people. But for a Spaniard or anyone
