Always great talking to @ThePurist_ about tactics and the more nuanced parts of the sport

That was worst half of football I've seen Barça play in the Hansi Flick era. To be down to a Sevilla side that is usually pretty blah by only one goal is almost a miracle - is a sentence I hate writing

Top of the table after starting a 17yo (congrats to Dro on the debut) and a 19yo who was out of regular football for almost two years. Good win

These passing maps are a perfect representation that both managers had clear ideas that supported their personnel. The position of the Newcastle midfield does show why Barça were able to bypass them like they did though

Rashford needs like 5 more matches like that and he becomes one of the best loan signings in club history

So the only difference from what I had was Araujo in for Christensen, which makes sense. Araujo isn't the 4th choice CB after all. This is a rough match-up for Eric at CB or RB and I like the swap. Same with Lewandowski/Torres

Bummed about the Lamine Yamal news, but this Aitana goal angle did cheer me up a little bit

And lastly, and I say this as a content creator, allow fans to interact with the highlights. Fans cannot afford image rights, duh, so the short-sighted crackdowns of all fan-created content means that there are less eyes on the product. Eat the costs to create younger fans. /end

So what can we do? Almost nothing. But maybe stop eating our tails. I do usually agree (but not always) with people like @NealGardner_ @LaLigaMichael and I definitely don't agree with @elfayz_ on most things, but they are outstanding ambassadors for La Liga in the English space

I don't have any qualifications to run a multi-billion dollar league that touches every corner of the globe. I'm just a fan of La Liga that wants to see that gap close with the EPL over the next 10 years.

Stop punishing teams for investing in their own futures (i.e. stadiums) if they are able to secure VC loans for said projects. The lowest projections of estimated earnings should be taken into account when considering that future revenue.

Money is the only incentive now, which means Tebas has to stop publicly combatting his own teams. Put more internal pressure on the owners who have subpar pitches and technology.

The EPL has created a financial Super League without the title. Players are more willing to sit on the bench and make gobs of money in the UK than be a starter for Real Betis, who struggled to register players this season.

If I had the solutions to boost broadcasting rights contracts and putting the product in new markets for increased revenue, I'd be charging quite a bit as a consultant and I wouldn't be begging for YT subscriptions (please subscribe!).

And that gets us back to Tebas. Unlike the US, Tebas doesn't work for the owners because the league is not single entity; he represents the league. Most of the clubs in La Liga make less than 55m in TV revenue and less than 100m in total revenue. That can't happen.

But there is a difference between extracting value and generating value. For a hundred different reasons, the EPL has used the last 30 years to generate value in the league. My fear about La Liga is that those in charge are just looking to extract value.

Atleti are spending and financially competing because a large amount of their shares are owned by a billionaire and a private equity firm in the US. Is that better than the whims of one rich man (usually from Spain) and what he can spend?

Now in defense of Tebas, many La Liga owners can't compete with the billions and VC that owns the Prem. Alaves' owner Josean Querejeta is a former basketball player. Alaves are actually a generally well-run club but have a limited financial ceiling. Getafe is similar.

I understand that BarΓ§a and Real Madrid do push against revenue sharing for all teams, so I'm not letting them off the hook, but to me it's a race to the bottom with other owners. What pressure is actually applied on the likes of MartΓn Presa or Peter Lim?
