Hot take: the problem isnât the fact that itâs decentralized/centralized. The problem is that the draft itself just takes way too long, no matter the format, and having to watch it without having the teams there made it feel even more useless.
Reporting on this only because Iâm a bit surprised by the outcome. Expect the NHL to give the Decentralized Draft model another try next year. Strong majority of GMâs voted in favour of the new status quo with some potential production tweaks to move the 1st round along.

People might read into this as Bolduc becoming a center, but I think this is part of a larger plan of making sure some left handed wingers can take faceoffs while we wait for a left handed 2C (if it happens). Bolduc should play wing.
