I even went as far as to spend 5 hours figuring out how to make backups, only to be told that you needed to separately back-u hyper tables. Despite being confused, even ChatGPT couldn't figure it!. I don't regret trying as I can see how awesome Postgres is, just TS is not for.

To explain more, we track every action that happens in the server. We're able to show-off awesome leaderboards and stats that make us unique compared to other servers. However PGSQL+TS still felt too slow despite using Timescales Hypertables option. A 2s page load felt iffy

A week ago I launched PlayMC, a family-friendly Minecraft server where we've already tracked over 6 million in-game events. However after launching with Postgres+Timescale we've decided to move back to the OG, @SingleStoreDB. Switching took our page speed from 2s to 300ms. 🚀

@TimescaleDB We've already surpassed 500,000 events tracked in less than 24h since launch! We track every action in the game; every block placed, broken, mob killed, bed slept, etc. We use the data to power real-time player profiles and leaderboards. I'm sure the database guru @aarondfrancis.

So 2 months ago I made the switch from PHPStorm to Cursor after years of hesitation, I'm absolutely loving it!. Now I've recently found out about @DevsenseCorp from speaking to @jorqensen - absolutely fantastic!!. I am loving the VS Code experience, never thought i'd say that 😍.

For example, I use JSON columns in a project of mine and I didn't know about Laravels new "Fluent" class nor the casting. Definitely going to implement that!.

Just signed up to @alexdotgs's NewInLaravel site, pretty cool tbh - I'm guilty for keeping my apps updated and wanting to use the newest shorthands. Worth checking out if you use Laravel and you're as guilty as me 😂.

I often get asked what icons I use. it's Pikaicons!. Pika has been my go-to for years now and I'm hugely thankful to Ash for adding a bunch of icons we needed at @AtoBeach in v2.2. I love how playful the icons are, they add to the user experience 🥰.

With @cursor_ai releasing BugBot, I wonder how long until the next @ycombinator SaaS acquires my Bug​.io domain and goes crazy with it. It's proof that these type of tools are only getting bigger in demand. If only I had more time to build things like this!.
