When it took off, she turned it into the nonprofit Feeding Philly. The org is still going strong, with 1,500 lbs of food collected and repurposed and 2,000 families served. Samantha is showing what’s possible when young people have the tools & support to solve challenges.

"The Fellowship taught me how to set smart goals, break things down into tangible tasks, and work backwards from big picture to small picture." Samantha Sandhaus saw her classmates go hungry while perfectly good food was being tossed, so she decided to start a community fridge.

Leadership shouldn't be a solo mission. That’s why we are partnering with @helloCandS to recruit the next class of Carnegie Young Leaders, a year-long fellowship designed for teams of young people (ages 14-24) who have a bold idea for addressing a challenge in their community.
