"Death in the Air" (DFW, Oct. 10, 1936). A detective on the "El" -- NY's elevated railway system -- sees two people struggling in a passing lit window, and the man with whom he’s sharing his compartment is killed by a bullet. He returns to investigate and discovers more death.
