Alabama made the conference title game and won a playoff game in year 2 under a new head coach after replacing Nick Saban. Add in the roster turnover heโs had and the new landscape of CFB. He showed signs of progress in year 2. It was a success

It'll be easy to dunk on Ty Simpson after today. Easy and wrong. With no running game, he led Alabama to the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff. And we may never fully know how banged up he was along the way. He deserves your respect, not your derision.
