I've been on a journey moving from point-and-click GIS tools to working almost entirely in SQL, and it is 💯 but what isn't 💯 is the available guidance for common geo workflows in SQL, so I've written my own!. "How to SQL: a Guide for GIS Users" #GIS #SQL.

To create a custom world map projection: Settings > Custom Projections > add "+proj=ortho +lat_0=-0.53420247 +lon_0=-91.056061 +x_0=0 +y_0=0 +a=6371000 +b=6371000 +units=m +no_defs" to Parameters and alter the lat/lon to centre your globe wherever you'd like!.
