It's also helping me make better decisions, meet deadlines, and manage stress. Fellow readers, I loved it. If you're curious about your personality and how it affects your work, I 💯 recommend. HR, what's a book that changed your perspective on work + you? Let's book swap!👇

As an anti-workbook person, I’m shook to admit I loved The Four Tendencies by @GretchenRubin. The book explains personality types (Upholders, Questioners, Obligers, Rebels) and how we handle our inner and outer expectations. It's helping me better understand my behavior.

He claimed the statement made his non-white colleagues victims and his white colleagues villains. He sued for race discrimination, but the court dismissed it, ruling that opposing a training. he hadn't attended wasn't a protected activity.

The company set a deadline for the employee-turned-plaintiff in Vavra v. Honeywell to finish mandatory bias training. The employee, calling the training a “joke,” ignored all reminders and never did it. He also blasted a 2020 statement on racial bias made by an exec.

John Stumpf’s Wells Fargo tenure (2007-16) epitomizes bad leadership. He set sales quotas so high that employees made millions of fake accounts to meet them. When 🚩🚩 popped up, he did nothing. Ultimately, he blamed lower-level staff instead of taking responsibility.

Likewise, CEO Chuck Conway led Kmart into bankruptcy. Despite attempts to revive Kmart, the company had to file for Chapter 11 in 2002. He was charged with duping investors and diverting company $ for personal luxuries, like a mansion & $5M retention loan to himself 👀

Ken Lay, Enron's CEO, could've legally made millions. Instead, he defrauded investors for more. His fixation on short-term profit wiped out billions, and left thousands jobless. This led to Enron's epic 2001 collapse, the largest fraud-related bankruptcy in history.

Great ideas and strong convictions don't make a good leader. Leadership is HARD and requires daily effort. Big misconception: leaders are always good or deserving. Often, the opposite's true. History shows many in power don't deserve it. Let's dive in👇

⛔ We confuse confidence with competence.⛔ We prioritize charm over effective leadership.⛔ We're drawn to narcissists. What's the fix?. Focus on real traits of good leaders: competence, integrity, & humility. Women score higher on all three. Want better leaders? Look to women.

Men often overestimate their talents. This is why leadership is dominated by incompetent males. The real question isn't, "why there aren't more women leaders?". But instead, "why are so many incompetent men are in charge?". Here's why👇 (1/2)
