This is 1 of the reasons why I always stated that I wish Mike would've stayed living in NYC after "The Wiz" wrapped. He seemed more relaxed & less paranoid. He blended in w/ the crowd better. It would've made his work/life balance much better.

It's like that scene in "The Jacksons: An American Dream" when Joseph has to wipe tears from Mike's eyes as he's mere feet from touching the stage. When he pushes him on stage, the switch happens & he's confident & in control. It was like 2 people occupying 1 body.

So many feelings... You're watching the change when MJ went from being the lead singer of the Jackson 5 to the LEADER of the Jackson 5. It's bittersweet, tho. In the doc, you see Mike backstage looking serious, stoic, & sad. He was like Clark Kent & Superman even then. :(
I love the way Michael is singing his lungs out, and Marlon and Jackie are in the back just groovin 😂

Joe saying that "the future is Black and is feminist" is a "movement," is...on brand. A movement implicitly, in the context he made it IMO, means something is temporary. Something like that shouldn't be viewed as temporary but as a reset or a reckoning.
