New research from #teamfluency (w/ Rachel Lopez, @hcshulman, @eliza_riggs12, and Jorge Cruz Ibarra)! We found that code-mixing in a narrative inhibits processing fluency and engagement and increases out-group bias. We end with suggestions to mitigate these effects.

We found that mortality salience (anxiety related to death) negatively impacts our ability to pay attention to complicated information. That said, this anxiety can actually help people pay attention to simply written information!. keep it simple! #teamfluency #scicomm #healthcomm.
