Wonderful to reconnect with Linda and Glenn Goecke, whom I wrote about in 2023, when they finished visiting all 41 @hclib locations. As a result of their adventures, the library now has a passport that you can pick up (free!) to get stamped when you visit https://t.co/DjeDKvsVRZ

In the early ‘90s, the Surveyor newspaper’s recurring column, "Quality Dining on a Budget Buck,” highlighted restaurants near Elliot Park neighborhood in Minneapolis. Photos of these local eateries are now part of the #ArchivesFeast in the HCL Digital Collections.

Minneapolis Stonehenge? No, bridge pilings for I-94 in downtown Minneapolis. This #ArchivesOnTheRoad photo from our Digital Collections is dated 1968 before the freeway connected Minneapolis to St. Paul. A state project is now considering the future of I-94 between the downtowns.

In 1987, Minneapolis-St. Paul put in a bid to host the 1996 Summer Olympics—and we were a close 2nd for the U.S. Olympic Committee, who ultimately selected Atlanta to represent the U.S. It wasn’t the 1st bid for the Twin Cities and it surely won’t be the last. #ArchivesGoForGold
