Game week. Seahawks are doubted once again this season. Charleston and Campbell getting shown a lot of love. We lost some pitching, but retained our Saturday starter (may turn to our Friday starter) and picked up a possible Saturday or Sunday starter in Trey Williford.

We retained a decent enough portion of field players as well are our DH Cole Neloson, who should take place as the team's slugger this season. All of that combined with the team's chemistry and coaching, I think we are set up for a solid season.

Cam Bagwell (RHP): The 2025 CAA Freshman of the Year, who threw the program's first perfect game since 1968, entered the transfer portal. Cam Bagwell, an electric freshman starting pitcher in 2025, is headed to Wake Forrest. We wish him well.

Aubrey Smith (RHP): Rounding out the draft class, Smith was selected by the Houston Astros in the 13th round. Although not a weekend started, Aubrey was a strong asset to lose, especially with so many other pitchers headed out

Trace Baker (RHP): The All-CAA reliever joined the Toronto Blue Jays organization in the 13th round. Trace was our go-to reliever, with possibly starter material for this year. He is a rough one to let go.

Bryan Arendt (C): A senior mainstay behind the plate, Arendt was drafted in the 13th round by the Athletics. Bryan was a beast behind the plate as well as at the plate. Not to mention his sneaky speed on the base path. Will need to find a good replacement for such a unique player

He still was one of the Seahawks hottest bats, trading in a lot of those homeruns for RBI doubles. Although the Seahawks are losing a dynamic piece of their offense, I have a feeling someone will step up into that power hitter role. It will be interesting to see who does.

Tanner Thach (1B): The First-Team All-CAA slugger and home run leader was taken in the 8th round by the Colorado Rockies. Tanner needs no introduction if you know anything about Seahawk baseball. Although he couldn't replicate his amazing 2024 season as far as homeruns go...

Zane Taylor (RHP): The 2025 CAA Pitcher of the Year was selected in the 5th round by the Oakland Athletics. Zane was lights out for the Seahawks in 2025. Finding a solid replacement for him in our starting line up will be a challenge for the pitching staff.
