for the few that are saying my players or myself are bad/toxic people: I’m sorry you all had such bad experiences in your own d&d journeys that this is the default assumption you come to, but it’s not the case here 💙 I hope your next adventure heals your heart.

it makes me sad that the work we all put into this will never get finished. the characters and stories were beautiful and fun and I was excited to watch them grow as they journeyed forward. this was just a tragic abrupt end to that excitement and no true closure will happen.

also to clarify: we played for months. The campaign ended a little less than halfway through the adventure. It was also 4 new/newish players and 1 veteran that I am still friends with after all this. My decision to quit wasn’t because I am mad at them or anything of the sort.

the quitting was a decision I made after the year of work I put into a campaign and working with the players and their characters to tell the story we all wanted to tell just not happening now. Emotionally exhausted. That’s all 💙

thank you for the kind words. It wasn’t a toxic situation at all, one player left very early on (first campaign and they were more interested in creating the character than playing him) and the other two were in a relationship that ended so they couldn’t continue playing together
