As temperatures drop, portable heaters can help keep you warm, but they can increase fire risk if used incorrectly. Keep them away from furniture, curtains and clothes, never cover them, avoid blocking fire exits with them, and turn off before bed or leaving home. #WeAreWMFS

🌨️🚶♂️ Winter water safety matters. Icy water is dangerous. Teach children never to go on ice and to keep well back from edges, especially in the dark. In an emergency, stay calm and call for help. Never jump in - always dial 999 and ask for the fire service. #WeAreWMFS

Stay warm at home and reduce fire risk by: 🔋 switching off electrics before bed 🥵 not plugging heaters or electric blankets into extension leads 🏠 never using outdoor heaters inside ⏰ checking smoke alarms weekly - they could save your life. #WeAreWMFS
