After learning to play the guembri yesterday, I found this gentleman in the souk today making qraqeb, the traditional iron castanets used in a lot of sub-Saharan music. He kindly made a set for me at a great price! 🎼

Comme on peut le voir, le groupe est mene par un Maalem (maitre) tenant le guembri (guitare a trois cordes traditionnelles) que les autres membres accompagnent de Qraqeb (larges castagnettes en metal) dependant de la chason cela peut etre accompagne aussi par un tambour.
