🗓️ Exactly three weeks ago #Iran imposed a national internet blackout to obscure civilian killings. Whitelisting and heavy filtering are still in effect. The incident is among the most severe of its kind on record, exceeded in duration only during civil war in Myanmar and Sudan.

📺 The BBC cancelled almost all TV and radio interviews on #Iran's internet blackout they'd scheduled or suggested changing topic to other outages. With huge respect to BBC journos, this wastes human rights monitors' time, hasn't happened in past crises, and needs investigation.

Nothing on @BBCNews about #IranMassacre - not one article. If I’m being kind it might be because the general population of Britain can’t quite believe there is now overwhelming evidence that so called “security forces” in another country are exterminating their citizens by the

There are two reasons for the blackout: 1. Stop communication between HRH Reza Pahlavi and the nation of Iran 2. Genocide & massacre of Iranians.

“The internet is that last shred of hope because, in the darkness of a blackout, anything can happen and nobody will know.” In #Iran's digital darkness it's unlikely anyone really knows what damage the regime has wrought. 🖋️@fintan_03 / The Sunday Times https://t.co/mCHMui6jtU

Did @netblocks stop publishing new reports the moment Israel started regularly cutting the internet in Gaza? Is NetBlocks just no longer posting to its website, or did NetBlocks really just stop producing reports when Israel began regularly cutting internet to Gaza?

⚠️ Update: #Iran's internet blackout continues through its 18th day, obscuring the extent of a deadly crackdown on civilians. Meanwhile, gaps in the filternet are being tightened to limit circumvention while whitelisted regime accounts promote the Islamic Republic's narrative.
