My 4yo figured out how to type ∞ (U+221E) in IPython, but was upset when he saw that Python doesn't treat ∞ like the math symbol it represent and instead you have to type “np.inf”. So we used o3 to make an IPython startup script that makes ∞ work as expected.

i love using ipython and cursor so much that i decided to combine them both, introducing `ipychat` ✨. it uses relevant context from your session to suggest the best responses to your questions 🔎. choose between gpt-4o and claude-3.5-sonnet, local models coming soon 🤖

I'm trying out Zellij as an alternative to Tmux written in Rust, I like it!. I'm doing the "Make Your Own Neural Network" book by Tariq Rashid here, but I hate the aesthetics of the ipython web UI, so I'm doing everything with CLI ipython and regular python files.

My popular (?) demand, my fixed NumPy now exists as "real" (ish) package. If you use UV, you can try it by typing this one-liner:. uv run --with dumpy-numpy --with ipython ipython .

Nice! So this is how the native "wolfram_alpha" tool call looks like in new Llama-3.1 models. Also, how to use the "<|python_tag|>" with "ipython" role to help "assistant" role generating the answer.

Finally! Now I get what "<|eom_id|>" token is for in Llama-3.1 models!. "End of message. A message represents a possible stopping point for execution where the model can inform the executor that a tool call needs to be made. This is used for multi-step interactions between the

Figured it out: They call it python_tag so they can use the ipython role to display the results in a way that is already familiar to the base model

Interesting that LLama 3.1 has a <|python_tag|> token. Why not call it tool_tag if it's just used for calling tools?
