Trying to revitalize my 2009 #apple polycarbonate #macbook #A1342 with #ghostbsd (a #freebsd 😈 flavor with mate desktop) . thanks to #rEFInd i also can boot into #chromeos , #linux and #macos 😬

I am testing the server I got to build GhostBSD and all packages. So far, it is going better than I expected.

@HackForumsNet The care and attention put into GhostBSD by the developers and the Community is truly something to be proud of. They have done a great job of making FreeBSD accessible to a wide range of potential users.

#ghostbsd on #IMac 27“ 2012 13,2 NVIDIA. Besides audio (surely some Apple thing) and WiFi a very nice system. Well I would favour a GNOME3 desktop (i know, available as pkg). This means on par with #openindiana to supported hardware.

Looks like BSD folks will be able to run XLibre soon. Both GhostBSD and FreeBSD are working on it.

Got my hands on a used ThinkPad T470p and threw one of my GhostBSD PC's M.2 NVMe SSDs in it. Everything except sound works out of the box, even sleep and resume with zzz(8). 😄. WiFi is a little slow, but launching programs is incredibly fast and the OS feels very responsive.
