This nails it. The remake issue stems from a broader larger cultural issue of FOMO You can't just play a fun thing from 20 years ago, you have to play a brand new release that everyone else is playing.
Crowbcat is getting cooked (again) but he's right about RE4R. Remake fans don't want games, they want "cinematic experiences" with mindless gameplay they can easily go through so they can watch the cutscenes and tell their twitter friends how they played the trendy new thing.
