December 14th, 1831; the #TitheWar. 13 police, along with 3 civilians, killed at #Carrickshock, Kilkenny. 14 more police injured, following a crowd of some 2,000 hurling rocks at them from high walls. The word 'Carrickshock' was used to taunt the police for years afterwards.
