Simpcw First Nation was the last stop on my tour, and it was a perfect endnote. They’ve initiated real partnerships with communities across the valley, from Clearwater to McBride. Our ministry has an opportunity too, to be a meaningful partner with Simpcw well into the future.

Gone are the days when land could be left alone - to be good stewards, we must practice active land mgmt. Chief Lampreau and Simpcw are wholly committed to that very land management, through fire mitigation, collaboration, etc. They set the tone. The best last stop on my tour.

With my friend Chief Lampreau of the Simpcw First Nation. True stewards of the land, and real collaborators with our government and local forestry operators. Last month I was pleased to deliver more fibre to this nation so they can harvest and get logs to local mills. #bcpoli

Great day dropping by River City Fibre, a partnership between Arrow Transportation and Simpcw First Nation. I toured their operation with their team and @teamsters213. They use wildfire damaged wood for chips which are then transported to the pulp mill next door. #bcpoli
