For too long, we’ve mentally accepted that crashes just happen. We’ve accepted that transportation comes with an inherent cost – a risk of being seriously hurt or killed in a crash. This week, we’ll set the record straight. Traffic crashes are preventable. #SafeStreetsWeek

I’m excited that Durham is part of #SafeStreetsWeek, starting today in NC. And it’s important to acknowledge that another pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday on Holloway - the 10th pedestrian killed in Durham in ‘24. #VisionZero can’t come soon enough.
Today starts the North Carolina #SafeStreetsWeek. We are joining over 40 organizations across the state to call for an end to preventable traffic deaths. Join us: https://t.co/Ivct46dsKk
