@brockpierson Probably never, holiday posts don't fit the programmers' or employees' idea of content unless it's coming from a mega account. Happy National Ding-a-Ling Day

Advent of Code 2025, in OCaml, day 6 This one was quite mind numbing 🙀. It reminds me of processing those nasty "grid oriented" EDI order/sales formats that were popular as late as the 1990s I'm sure COBOL programmers would feel right at home with this one

@QuantumAlteredX Because the owners know what AI is and people won’t invest in it if they knew. They can program all day but the real programmers are the ones asking questions.

historically there was this super important medium called "radio" whose programmers would switch to christmas music after black friday so any releases would fall on dead ears and the whole music industry just wraps up work and takes the back half of the month off to this day
no disrespect but the "wrapped" posts in early december strike me as a little low-agency. there is an entire twelfth of the year left! anything might happen a new favorite album a new favorite book. more publications. young poet, your entire life might change...

@HereticArtwork @techbromemes Blender started out as in-house 3D animation software intended to cover real needs of the trade since day 1, GIMP started out as a tool by a bunch of programmers who don't know what artists want and is being developed by a bunch of programmers who don't know what artists want.

@ludwigABAP Lots of objectively shitty things are used by millions of engineers every day. Doesn’t make them good. In the case of CMake, the market of C++ programmers locked in on it ages ago and transition costs suck. Or they all lack testicular fortitude. Choose your preferred
