#Cardano Ngl, it's annoying when I see "minFee" instead of "minPoolCost". It's annoying because it's confusing 😅 poolCost (fixed fee) is already a minimum. And minPoolCost, is the minimum minimum 😅😅 So when you say "minFee", many think of poolCost instead of minPoolCost 😅😅😅

Some definitions to reduce confusion: minPoolCost - the minimum fixed fee a pool can set per epoch poolCost - the fixed fee a pool can set per epoch minPoolRate - the minimum percentage fee (margin) a pool can set per epoch 3/n

To clarify: My CIP removes minPoolCost. Not poolCost. Pools would still be able to set a fixed fee. If a small pool needs the 340 ADA per epoch, they can keep it. Removing it just allows pools that need less to charge less and be more competitive. 6/n

@JaromirTesar Which Cardano ethos? The minPoolCost is against the original paper. It would be the smartest move to remove it. That would not mean that it goes away, but SPOs could freely decide what their PoolCost is. Just like the VariableFee has no minimum.

@jradswartz You can set your own parameters for the poolMargin and the poolCost. But the protocol parameters define the minimum value for the poolCost, k(saturation) and other parameters. So because of competition, almost every pool is setting the poolCost value down to the minimum value the
