A very good book for learning the basics of multigrid methods. I think this was a recommended book in a numerical linear algebra course that I took long time ago at University of Michigan, where I wrote my first multigrid code in one of the homework projects. Later, I extended it

Had a good discussion on multigrid methods. Multigrid is a defect-correction solver, where the correction is computed based on a discretization (often a lower-order accurate method) on coarser grids.
