Our mystery object is a metal mold for a relief map of the United States. The mold from yesterday’s post is backwards. Look on the left and you’ll notice Florida. The design was first carved from wood, then cast in printer’s metal. #MondayMysteryObject #Mapheads

We’ll tell you upfront what our mystery object is this Monday: a roll of Vinylite. The mystery is that we used Vinylite constantly from 1972 through 1993 and not very much since then. Why? #MondayMysteryObject #Vinylite

Our Monday Mystery Object this week is a stack of letters from the AFB Helen Keller archive, dating from the late 30s to the 40s. All are typed on personal stationery and signed by celebrities. The mystery is what they have in common. #MondayMysteryObject

Our Monday Mystery Object is no mystery. It’s clearly a half-pint bourbon bottle. APH staffer Jimmy Park discovered it wedged into a wall in the attic of APH’s 1883 building. But who put it there and why? That’s the mystery. #MondayMysteryObject #StrangeFinds #Bricks

It's time for our Monday Mystery Object! This machine, with all its interesting knobs and wires, was essential in our operation beginning in the 1890s. It’s about the size of an upright piano. But what is it and what did it do? #MondayMysteryObject #OldMachines #VictorianObjects
