Class 2 loved getting back into the woods with Ruth at Forest school! We learnt all about the lifecycle of ladybirds, designed our own spotty ladybird and used a drill to make holes for its antennae! We can’t wait for next week! #MelthamBreakout #MelthamUoW 🐞🌲🍁

In RE we have been learning about the objects that are special to Christians. We had a virtual tour of a church to look at all the special artefacts, we then made beautiful stained glass windows with crosses #MelthamUoW #MelthamEAD

This week in Class 2 we have been looking for ‘signs of Spring’ around our school grounds. We had a look at our class tree too. We love our ‘signs of spring’ crowns. #melthamUoW

Class 2 enjoyed their first visit to forest school today. We enjoyed listening to the story of ‘stickman’ and then found our own stickmen or stick ladies. We also had a lovely time exploring the den, mud kitchen and climbing trees. 😁#melthamUoW #melthamPD

Today Foundation stage learnt about the Hindu festival Diwali. We listened to the story of Rama and Sita and made diya lamps out of clay. We’re excited to bring them home to light for Diwali on Sunday! #MelthamUoW

Our topic on bears was started by Mrs Pearson who shared her wonderful experiences of seeing grizzly bears, black bears and the very rare Spirit bear in the wild. We loved learning about these incredible bears and seeing photographs of them in their natural habitats #MelthamUoW

This learning inspired us to research our favourite species of bear & share our facts with the class. We are so impressed with the children’s learning at home! We learned that Giant pandas live in China and a newborn Spirit bear weighs the same as 2 blocks of butter! #MelthamUoW

We have been learning about the special days of Easter in Foundation stage. This week we learnt about Good Friday and why the cross is important to Christians. We learnt why the cross is on a hot cross bun and got to try some! #MelthamUoW
